Meet Taneka

Taneka Rubin was born in Bamberg, Germany, and raised in Sierra Vista in a small, military community. In early adolescence, Taneka developed a passion for basketball.

That passion eventually allowed her to earn a full scholarship to complete her Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Florida A&M University’s globally recognized School of Business and Industry.

She then went on to earn a full scholarship to play basketball and study abroad in England while attaining her Master’s in International Business from the University of East London.

Taneka then went on to play professional basketball in England, Portugal, Spain, and Romania, completing five seasons as a pro athlete in Europe.

She also authored a book in 2019 titled, Winners Win, which highlights the process and characteristics that has created the Winner’s Mindset that she embodies. In her off-seasons, Taneka makes it a priority to invest in the youth through coaching, speaking, and mentorship.

She has served as a Head Girls Basketball Coach & Assistant Girls Basketball Coach at the high school level, and a Basketball skills trainer for elite high school & college athletes, but youth mentorship is what matters to her the most.

Taneka’s experience serving as a Youth Mentor through Baylor University’s Faith & Sports Institute opened her eyes to the reality of what youth need today. She desires to be a positive example for youth and use her experiences to impact the next generation.
